Rand Paul, Ted Cruz

or anyone associated with the tea party or hard libertarian fringe.

Rand Paul. Although there are a number of Republican candidates who'd project real weakness on the international stage, I suspect. Ryan and Rubio come to mind here. Jindal too.

Peter King worries me. He's WW3 potential.

This. For all of Romney's flaws I would rather see him President than a far right or far left isolationist.

I sincerely hope that the reason nobody mentioned John Bolton yet is because he is not a particularly likely nominee.

Neither Rand Paul nor Dennis Kucinich are "Isolationists," they just don't want the US to bomb other nations, their completely fine with trade and the like.

I went a little too far, but they are very different.  It really depresses me that Ted Cruz is so interventionist.

Every candidate except Paul.

To be fair, Kucinich is a protectionist so he isn't really fine with trade.

I wouldn't mind Paul's. It's much preferable to, say, Paul the elder's policy or conversely the excesses of the Bush administration.

Of course, is it easier to oppose someone on their actual policy positions or to completely misrepresent them and attack strawmen, instead?

Ted Cruz. One could remake the "Daisy" ad with him as a nominee.

Paul's is definitely the foreign policy I fear the most, although I'd be uncomfortable with a return to Bush era interventionism as well.
