Friday Morning scale update:  I am at 289.4 which is .2 less than yesterday.  Not as big of a drop as I had hoped, but at least I didn't go up.  Today, I'll try to behave myself until supper when I may go to a sit-down restaurant to start the weekend.  I'll try to behave there, too.

You need to stop looking at the scale every single day (or even more frequently) and trying to find reasons for why it may have gone up or down 0.4 pounds. Certain fluctuations are entirely random, and assigning a meaning to them serves no purpose.

As everyone else has said, any serious attempt at meaningful weight loss needs to happen through a lifestyle change. Eating frozen burritos instead of bacon double cheeseburgers (without the chesse, though!) isn't going to get you far. Nor will climbing a flight of stairs twice a day to get you to the seat where you'll be spending your entire work day.

I know you're going to respond that every little bit helps as a start....and while that isn't incorrect in itself, we've heard it a dozen times before.

You need to stop eating out. Restaurant food is terrible for you.

Bushie, I know you know how to make a ham sandwich. Put some fresh spinach in there next time. In addition to the vitamins, you'll get some much needed fiber.

It's times like these that our good friend opebo would remind us that despite his best intentions, memphis' idea of cuisine is exceedingly bland an unappealing.

I love spinach, but not on my sandwich.  But memphis' point is well taken.....

Eating out isn't really the issue. I do all the time. It's what he eats that's the issue. Burgers, fries, soda. I ate out last night and had greens, fish, and succotash and I'm sure eating a bunch of stewed okra, beans, tomatoes and onions won't make me fat.

BUT as I said, this is all Bushie knows. I'm not harping on his weight. He won't change. He's obese, his fiancee is obese, his parents are overweight, most of his friends are overweight - why do we think he'd be anything but overweight? Their culture encourages gluttony and they all love country cooking and red meat. Eating healthy, and I don't mean bland boring stuff, I don't eat spinach on my sandwiches, but I mean vegetables prepared with thought and other lean meat isn't encouraged.

He's never going to change. We all know that.

I'm thinking of having a lunch able out of the vending machine for lunch.  I'll have a slightly bigger dinner tonight after work.

Changing topics….Bushie, I forget if you ever mentioned this, but what is Allison's level of religiosity compared to you?  Does she not only attend church weekly but also do both group and individual bible study like you do?

Yep.  RIP.  I hope he puts a good word in for us with Jesus when he gets there.  We need it.

She is just as religious as I am, albeit a tad more liberal.  She does do group Bible study.  I'm trying to get her to do individual studies as well.

Spinach on sandwiches is good, though the best leafy green is arugula IMO.

Does she approve of The President?

We haven't discussed it at length, but I would assume no.  Same with me.  Of course, she may be more liberal, but she voted for Romney, whereas I voted for Obama.

I highly doubt that Jesus would take any interest in an unrepentant sinner like Bushie who routinely profanes the Lord's name by using it as a catch-all excuse.

God takes interest in everyone even, nay, especially the frustrating and unrepentant sinners. Jesus died for the sinners, not for the saints.

More open to gay marriage and more accepting of medical marijuana.

I'm pretty sure marijuana is healthier than 95% of what you eat.

That's not it for me.  I just have a personal, religious objection to the use of marijuana.
