I'm sure there could be some justification for this...or not.

That article was a disgusting hit piece of vague accusations with little to no proof. Like was said, allies spy on each other. But the first to get outed is the one who gets blamed. We see you, Newsweek.

Everyone spies on everyone, regardless of alliances. This is basic foreign/clandestine policy.

It's like when someone is trying to get attention. Like if a girl is dressing sexily people will say "Girl I see you". It's a colloquialism.

Yeah, it's essentially short for "I see what you're trying to do."

Oh, so you see that Newsweek is trying to put out attention grabbing stories to get more attention and bounce back from their temporary demise? Yeah, that should be blatantly obvious.

Apparently, most people here haven't met our resident Likud spokesperson before that thread.

If Al Gore is the guy they're most worried about spying on, I say let them at it.

"Might" because allegations like these have to be investigated further, though I wouldn't be at all surprised if Israel were doing this.

Of course, since making even the slightest criticism against Israel is politically toxic, don't expect the feds to do anything about it.

The US would not be in a position to criticize spying on one's allies in any case.

Note that the alleged spying in this case happened nearly two decades before the NSA scandal. The usual Israel First suspects who are out in force in this thread to minimize the signifigance of Israeli spying by saying "the U.S. does it too!" are neglecting that.

That they're also invariably Patriotic Conservatives who would be aghast were it any other nation scarcely needs mentioning.

Makes me wonder if they now have guys following Biden around lol.

But yeah, that's pretty disturbing. I'm surprised at that point they still sent guys in ventilation shafts to do the spying and didn't use a microphone bug or something.

You really think the NSA just started spying on foreign leaders yesterday?

Of course not. But the fact this goes back at least eighteen years makes the current round of NSA spying irrelevant to the issue.
