Declared Democratic candidates:
1. Charles Chang
2. Frederick Conquest, anthropology professor and candidate for Governor in 2010.
3. Stephen Frye, psychiatrist and candidate for NV-03 in 2012.
4. Bob Goodman, former State Economic Development Commissioner and candidate for Lieutenant Governor in 2006 and 2010.
5. Chris Hyepock, casino manager.
6. Allen Rheinhart, painter, sculptor, and writer.
7. John Rutledge, philanthropist and attorney.
8. Abdul Shabazz, denture repair business owner and candidate for Mayor of Las Vegas in 2011.

They really couldn't find anyone else?

There's no point; Sandoval is too popular.  Ross Miller is waiting until 2018 when the race is open.

The Dems are paying closer attention to the other statewide offices.

He's one of the few sane Republican governors we have at this point.

If anything, the Democrats should be subtly suggesting he cross over.

No reason to waste viable candidates and valuable resources on a Safe R seat

But is any of these candidates sane at least?

Nevada Democrats should just wait until 2018 when Sandoval is termed out.

Don't waste $$$$ on a hopeless campaign this year.

Aren't they mainly spending on the Lt-Governor's race? So if a Democrat wins that, then Sandoval is dissuaded from going against Reid in 2016.

Sandoval doesn't want to run against Reid in 2016 all because of the prospect of a Democrat winning the LG's office this fall ?

LG is the higher priority, though contending with possible Governor coattails makes it more challenging.
