The fact that the medical marijuana groups actually opposed full legalization in every state that's voted on it so far has obviously not been taken into account.

It has been taken into account plenty by journalists.  In fact, a number of stories have been written about the fact that the marijuana growers associations in California are some of the biggest opponents of legalization.  I can remember such stories appearing for at least four years (and my memory is pretty bad, with all the weed that I smoked as a high school student, so they have probably been around much longer.)

Taken into account by some people of course, but not Adam clearly. Of course Adam is also someone who believes DARE propaganda.

18, which should also be the age for buying alcohol.

I would probably become the campus outcast if I did rat on them, but also because I think they can fight their addictions with support before having to resort to alerting authorities. It's not a sin to care about people and helping them out as much as possible.

Roll Eyes at "addiction to marijuana", a substance shown to be less addictive than caffeine, tobacco, and alcohol.

Should we outlaw those as well?

This.

But under the assumption that the drinking age is staying put, then marijuana should be 21 as well.

18 for recreational use, no minimum age if needed for medical purposes.

No age for consumption (pretty much impossible to enforce), purchase age at whenever science informs us that the brain is not significantly affected by marijuana consumption (with special exceptions for children who need medical marijuana).

I voted 18, but I think that should be the purchase age. Everyone should have the right to medicinal marijuana regardless of age. As for recreational use, I'd support a parental consent law for those under 18.

18, just like alcohol and tobacco should be. Once you are 18, which I believe is a suitable age, you are a full citizen on the United States and should not be restricted by your age.

Same as alcohol is a good rule. If a state wanted to give up its highway funds and move the drinking age back to 18, that would be on them, but I don't see the alcohol age changing anywhere anytime soon.

I think 16 would be a sensible and enforceable minimum age for both marijuana and alcohol, but given that is politically unrealistic in the US 18 would be fine. The main problem with high age limits is that everybody break them and that undermines their credibility.

21, which should also be the legal age for smoking tobacco (as long as tobacco is legal).

I am against marijuana prohibition, but it is false to say that marijuana is not a somewhat psychologically addictive substance.

I think that it would be nice for the government if Americans started smoke marijuana at 7-8. Then people would stop thinking at all and became a stupid crowd. Now american students are not the smartest one in the world. Weed gonna help them..
