In a statement reminiscent of Lee Atwater politics, Karl Rove suggested at a conference last Thursday, that Hillary Clinton's 2012 injury was the result of/caused by a brain injury.

Democrats were quick to slam Rove for the statement, with the DNC stating that Rove's medical predictions were "about as solid as his election night prognostications" referring to his pick of Mitt Romney to win the 2012 Presidential Election.

A Clinton Spokesperson said that there were "no words for this level of lying" and that Hillary is "100% healthy Period."

Hillary could be a vegetable and she'd still be more sane and cogent than the GOP field.

He's seen her speak over the last year or so, right?

Such a stupid lie, in addition to being outrageous.

What will Rove's next line of attack be: Hillary is a lesbian? Black love child?

Rove won.

There's been a lot of discussion about Clinton's mental health. And you could expect it to come up again if she has a brainfreeze which is typical of presidential candidates: Obama referred to 57 states, Romney introduced Paul Ryan as the next President of the United States.

All because a guy who hasn't been relevant in years implied there were reasons to be suspcious. ""Thirty days in the hospital? And when she reappears, she's wearing glasses that are only for people who have traumatic brain injury? We need to know what's up with that."

The GOP  is having a hard time dealing with a female beating them and they will say things like she is too old or the country won't elect a female to discourage it.

This isn't mental health, it's neurological health.

The reason it's not at all an issue is that politics isn't hockey and Hillary Clinton isn't Eric Lindros.  This concussion was a total fluke accident.

A flat-out lie by Rove, she was in the hospital for four days.

Between this and the foolish attempt to blame Clinton for the Nigerian kidnappings, desperation is settling in early for the Right.

Karl Rogue remains a powerbroker within the GOP. He has no power if the GOP has no power, but if it has power he can wield great power as a Party boss. If you question whether Party bosses can wield great power in a country -- well, that's how Josef Stalin wielded power.

So far as I know, Karl Rogue has no medical training.  Therefore we can excuse him for failing to understand that stating to the media that Hillary Clinton has brain damage related to a fall would be medical malpractice if a physician did it. It would be fair game if already known.

First, a diagnosis of organic brain damage would be by a physician, most likely a psychiatrist. Such a diagnosis would follow a medical examination done with the purpose of determining brain damage.

Second, in accordance with medical ethics, the physician would never leak the diagnosis. Physicians are bound to maintain professional confidentiality, which means that they do not release confidential data except with the consent of a patient or under compelling reasons of business (collecting fees for payment) or the furtherance of a case at law. Physicians guard professional confidentiality so that they can maintain the necessary trust of a patient.

Leaking confidential discussion for personal gain or for partisan politics without the consent of the patient is unacceptable behavior by a physician; doing so would put a physician at risk of legal sanctions. Even a janitor in a nursing home knows this.

Karl Rogue... it should be obvious why I distort his name.

According to Rich Lowry on KCRW's Left, Right and Center podcast Rove claims he either misspoke, or was misquoted. The hospitalization lasted for four days, but the entire ordeal lasted for thirty days, ending with HRC's release from the hospital.

He wasn't referring to any confidential information, just what was reported in the news. Bill Clinton released the confidential information that it took six months for his wife to fully recover.
