My Grandfather, Paul Wagner, was the State Senator for the 29th District in the PA state senate.

Recently my uncle was elected to the State Senate, for the 28th District.

No. The closest I know of is that the Libertarians wanted my grandpa to run for the water board (he's a pretty staunch Libertarian).

Scott Wagner is your uncle? How awkward (because of ideological differences) are your family gatherings? Cheesy

A great to the nth degree grandparent of mine was the vice-presidential nominee for one of the major parties.

I'm not telling who, so don't even ask. Wink

I might have had a great-great-aunt who was a county superintendent of schools.

My oldest brother was the Democratic county attorney for one of Iowa's north-central counties. He is running for his old post again this November. My second elder brother ran for Bonaparte, Iowa, city council in 2011. He lives in a tent and writes religious books and tracts. Obviously he was not elected.

I wouldn't be altogether surprised if my dad ends up a city counsellor. I suppose it might make it easier for me to follow in his footsteps, but I don't think I'm conpletely supportive of the idea.

Not in the states as far as I known though many have been republican activists.

I have a cousin in the British House of Lords. Alex of Berriew. If we've traced it correctly.

None that I know of, although it's possible I had ancestors in the British colonial government in India.

Although I come from a deeply political family on both sides and in both parties, no one has ever run for office. My uncle came close to running for US Congress in California. He has the connections to build a decent campaign, but the political life is not for him.

I'd like to run for something some day, though.

My fourth cousin once removed (or something like that), was the 43rd President. His father was the 41st President. His brother may be the 45th President.
