Uh, from what I gather this only means exit polls are illegal. But actual results should have been counted by now, no?

Wait, so there actually was a single polling day before 1999? Who's the idiot who changed that, and why?

I love how everyone has to wait for us before declaring any result Cheesy
There will be exit polls at 11pm,and then projections at 12:30am.

It's a shame we abandoned two-day voting though. Sad

Partito Democratico could end up being the biggest national party delegation in the EP. The current results suggest that they would get 34 seats!. The CDU/CSU got 35, but "only" 29 for CDU alone, which must be the biggest delegation so far. So if the numbers hold up, PD should be able to get more than those 29.

The numbers will hold up. At this point, 40% is assured.

So Italy is officially a freedom country! Smiley

And Tsipras will get in! Narrowly, but still, that means my vote almost made a difference. Tongue

PD swept every Province except Isernia (FI), Sondrio (Lega) and Bolzano (SVP). Renzislide anyone? Cheesy

It made a difference. Be smarter than the other kids ! Wink Every vote does make a difference even if the winning margin is not one vote in the end. This cliché is annoying. I guess it's an American thing.

Yes of course, I'm the first to say every vote matters! It's just that in this case it mattered even more considering how close we were to the threshold.

One man, two votes: Giovanni di Lorenzo, editor-in-chief of the German newspaper DIE ZEIT announced yesterday that he voted twice. As a dual citizen of Germany and Italy he cast his ballots for both countries.

That's cheating! Angry I didn't vote in France...

He's being investigated for it.

Oh, so there are laws against it? How are they supposed to be enforced, since there's no way to know if you've voted in another country?

Usually all precincts have voter lists and when you vote you get an [X] next to your name.

I think you can find out if someone voted twice ...

...

Did you read the previous posts? The issue is about voting twice in different countries.

I understand how they can investigate this after they get information on potential fraud, but they would never even find out about that in most cases.

Yepp, good that the guy was stupid enough to admit it (maybe not a bad decision actually, because it turns the focus on a fraudulent system).

Like you said, there's only a chance to find out afterwards if someone admits it.

That's why a synchonized EU-voter database would be great, checked for double or triple entries that get deleted, so that the person is only able to cast the vote in the place of his main residence.

Yeah, that would definitely be the best solution. Since people can vote in the country they reside in, there's no reason to allow residents of other countries to vote.

Wait, all these people waited for the EP elections to resign, even as they had plenty of reasons to do so far earlier?

Hungary is especially weird. They had general elections just a few weeks ago! Tongue

Oh wait... with all votes counted it changed again, lol

PO: 32,13%
PiS: 31,78%
SLD-UP: 9,44%
NP: 7,15%
PSL: 6,8%

No change in number of seats won

Still good news. Smiley
