UKIP voters in Euro elections come from literally all over the place. Have done since 2004.

Remember that voter turnover in Euro elections is extremely high.

Those 'backwards' islands produce the most wondrous cloth known to man, so don't be rude.

Harris Tweed. And it is a fine cloth.

Frankly they could burn people alive as human sacrifices for real and I wouldn't mind so long as they keep making that stuff...

Still no authorities counted from London...

London local elections take forever to count, which means they're way behind on this one. And local elections come first because they actually matter.

Worst Tory result in history? Like... since the 1670s?

No, because European elections are not national elections. You're better than this.

Foucaulf (on IRC) has worked out that the LibDems are in deep sh!t for their 'safe' SE seat, even.

Lowest Labour increase so far (just 5%), but then a Scot was leader in 2009.

I suspect Labour might have done somewhat better had the Party actually run a campaign that extended beyond a freepost leaflet. This isn't much of an exaggeration, alas. European Elections don't matter (of course) but that's not an excuse, as they have an impact on local elections held on the same day (and they do matter). A certain D.A. ought to be fired.

But then you aren't really 'represented' by any of these people are you? That's part of the problem.

Voting for a joke party is the most stupid thing anyone can do.

But this is an election with no consequences, so why not?

Sorry to make this point again, but it bothers me that we have these essentially meaningless elections every five years: EU policies are not altered in the slightest by European Election results, making them purely symbolic. In this respect they make a mockery of the idea (and ideal) of democracy.

Eastern - 34.5
East Midlands - 32.9
South West - 32.3
South East - 32.1
West Midlands - 31.5
Yorkshire & Humber - 31.1
North East - 29.2
Wales - 27.5
North West - 27.5
London - 16.9
Scotland - 10.5

Except for London and Scotland that is strikingly level.

Seriously? He'll be knocking around for decades as 'Former Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg - Elder Statesman', will sit on this quango and that quango and as many corporate boards as he feels like. He will quite probably get a seat in the House of Lords. He might well end up returning to Brussels and becoming a Eurocrat. He deserves absolutely no sympathy whatsoever.

Quite a few resignations already around Europe after some poor EP2014 showings.

Leader of the Irish Labour Party Eamon Gilmore

May also have been due to absolute maulings (deserved, very deserved) in local elections and in two by-elections.
