Let's say Chris Christie is completely cleared of any involvement in Bridegate and more or less recovers, winning a close GOP primary in a fractured field.  Truly trying to bring back moderates and independents, Christie picks Susan Collins of Maine to be his running mate, very much pissing off a huge portion of the GOP base.

Hillary Clinton, as expected, cruises to victory in the Democratic primaries.  Thinking she has the base behind her no matter what, and trying to capitalize on a divided GOP in order to maybe win states like West Virginia and Arkansas, Hillary picks extremely popular Arkansas governor Mike Beebe as her running mate.

What would the maps look like?  Would there be a third party candidate capable of seriously affecting the outcome to the level that Perot did?

As weird as it might seem, without a third party, I could see this Clinton win:

In a sane reality this would be an unstoppable Ticket (Christie/Collins) but the base will never accept it and therefore Christie loses by a large margin in both the popular and electoral vote. This map is probably a fair representation.

That's the kind of map I would have came up with as well, though Ted Cruz or Rick Santorum would likely mount a third-party bid in a match-up like this and probably end up carrying Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, Oklahoma and possibly West Virginia, Arkansas and Louisiana.

Hilary swept the South ?

HAHAHA. She pulled an LBJ, but how did she lose Delaware ?

Better yet, how in the world did Hilary lose WA State, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado and Hawaii ?

Did those states hate Hilary that bad.

There is no way Susan Collins is ever on the GOP ticket, nor any pro-choice Republican. Period.

No third party but there are twelve states where no candidate gets a majority?
