Aye.

I believe I have a better idea for this, once this amendment is adopted.

Offering the amendment I promised Tyrion. Withdrawals can be taken tax free at anytime. Matching funds have to stay in the plan for one year.

Is there any way to address the tendency for the matching funds to go disproportionately to those who can afford to set a large amount of money aside?

You mean like some kind of progressive or in healthcare what we would call a "sliding scale" approach? That is about the only way I can think of offhand.

Why couldn't we just eliminate federal taxes on those classified as severely disabled instead of collecting taxes off of them in some cases and then giving some or all of it back to them through a manner such as this? This is one of those unique and rare cases where I'd imagine absolving tax liability would provide an across-the-board increase in disposable income or savings for the people in question.

You could, but I doubt it would be effective. My standard for severe disability is quite strict. I seriously doubt many people that meet that standard earn enough ($35k) to pay federal income tax.

My amendment was adopted. I'm ready to bring this to a final vote if no one objects.
