You just can't beat a sweet old lady with white, cotton candy hair. She reminds everyone of their wise grandmother.

Sorry you lost buddy. I wasn't really following the campaign as closely as I should but I liked Tim Denson. I felt his vision for Athens lined up more with my views, but at the same time Nancy Denson is able to run on the "job creation" platform which resonated more with people, especially in a town like Athens that desperately needs good jobs.

Still impressed that you guys got 40% of the vote, though! You should be very proud of that.

Having spent nine months on a campaign as an intern that lost 55-45, I can somewhat feel your pain, though I am sure it is far worse being the campaign manager.

Were the candidates related to each other somehow or was it just an odd coincidence?

Congratulations, I'm sure the candidate wouldn't have got anything near 40% of the vote without you.

Hamsters are very good at running things.  I'd hire one.

I worked on a couple of campaigns when I was younger, including a particularly interesting but losing one.  I wasn't the manager, of course.  The manager, by the way, was hot.  Well, she was sort of homely, but she was stern and incisive and had a nice structure.  Moreover, I was young and single and I had bigwood for her.  She had fiery orange hair and emerald-colored eyes and high cheekbones.  At the end she started to like me just a little bit.  It worked out well enough at the consolation party.  She invited me.  Just the tip, she said at first, then she began to laugh at strange moments.  I laughed with her.  We only had that night.  The day after the election she packed up and left town.  Off to the next campaign, I suppose, or to the next conquest.  I never saw her again.

That same guy ran for the same office two years later and won.  I don't think it had much to do with the campaign manager, just the campaign.  Same message, different times.  Timing is everything.  His time had finally come.

Hang in there.

Odd coincidence.

And to think you spent all that time putting those "DENSON FOR MAYOR" signs up for nothing.

Thanks for sharing.

Perhaps paragraph breaks would be beneficial in the future?

I was initially confused by your use of a stack system which has a well-defined meaning in computer science. A Google search (actually a couple since the first only turned up computer-related entries) revealed that you were using a "progressive stack", if I understand it correctly. The entries for that method note that the strict queue based on first-in-first-out for speakers on a topic is altered allowing minority voices to have priority in speaking.

So here's my question(s). In the context of a leaderless organization, how does the group identify the stack keeper who determines speaking order? Does the stack keeper become a de facto leadership position?
