So I guess we just pray for Rivera.

If not, then congrats, Congressman Curbelo.

Dumb thing to say and poorly worded, but if you look at the context what he's saying isn't *that* unreasonable (not that the voters will care).

This was a dumb statement, but I guess it's not too surprising from someone who is so gross. Communism has caused so much damage that I don't think what Rivera said is even acceptable as a joke.

It was obviously a joke, settle down.  Life's too short to take personal offense every time a member of Congress says something stupid.

Honestly, I'm not really fired up over this. Seriously, I only wasted like 30 seconds of my life typing that comment. I just don't think people should joke about a system of government that caused some people to die.

So no jokes about Capitalism, democracy, dictatorships, or any other economic or political system? Tongue

We shouldn't act like stuff that really affects the lives of people is a laughing matter. I would expect better than that from my congressman. Joe Garcia's comments about communism tell me that he doesn't really take his job seriously.

X is trying to indirectly point out that every system of government has caused at least some people to die.

Here's the video. It's kinda up in the air as to whether or not he was actually joking IMO. Maybe he was being a bit hyperbolic, but it doesn't appear to truly be a joke. Joking or not, this isn't the kind of thing that's gonna help in win a second term in November.

He clearly isn't recommending communism at the very least, given he is associating it with a status quo that he wants to change.

Doubtful Republicans will pickup any district Obama won in 2012, but no use arguing with certain elements on this board, who know exactly who they are.

I don't know man, eating the ear booger was pretty bad Tongue. He's at least gross for doing that in public....

The Republican running doesn't even own property in the state of New York, so that might not be as easy a win as you think it will be, those things actually matter. I still maintain that the only House seats Republicans will pickup are very red ones, but none of us will know until election day.

Obama won FL-13. Democrats are very capable of screwing up seats they should win in.

I was talking about pickups, not seats already held, there is a difference. Believe it or not, in 2012, Republicans didn't defeat a single Democrat in a seat that Obama won. Shocking, I know, but it's not a lie, check the election results.

Vacant seats are vacant seats - especially when there's no incumbent to give any appearances.

President Romney feels the same way.

Joe Garcia's seat isn't vacant, so that doesn't apply here. Furthermore, the only vacant seats Republicans won in 2012 were Romney ones. Try again.
