I've only seen them used in connection to rape and as noted I don't think one can really object to that (although I'm not surprised to see many Atlas people disagree).

That said, I don't think it's a particularly useful concept in the sense that you won't be able to avoid triggers anyway and that I assume a trigger warning might also be a trigger? But I don't get why anyone would mind either.

This seems like one of those cases where it's legit to tell people to check their privilege. If you're not traumatized by anything that's awesome for you but not being an ass to those who are seems like a pretty small cost to you.
