I'm very surprised by this. As an anti-war "peace" Republican, I would have thought he supported the transfer.

I could see Ted Cruz saying this, but not him...

Methinks Paul is minimizing his deviations from mainstream conservative orthodoxy via equivocation again. He's correct in opposing the transfer, but probably opposes it on procedural grounds of it being performed without the notification of Congress rather than substantive opposition to the exchange. While I'm not necessarily opposed to this tactic, it would be nice if he could perform this deception more tactfully (although having tact might in itself be a departure from neoconservative orthodoxy)
