At the time, Roosevelt, with hindsight though I'd have voted for Norman Thomas because I would at least know what I was getting Tongue.

Tough call.

Knowing what I know now about the Soviet Union and the degeneration of the Russian Revolution, it's a fairly straight-forward and simple vote for Norman Thomas, which is how I have voted in the poll. At the time, however, I'd probably be voting for William Z. Foster.

Abstain at the time, Hoover with hindsight. I doubt I would have believed Roosevelt's free-market schtick at the time, although I could not have predicted just how much Roosevelt would betray his campaign promises.

Err...it had already degenerated incredibly quickly.  It's failure was crystal clear by 1932.

I realize that. What I'm saying is that I might not have access to the kind of information about the USSR that makes that clear to us today in 1932.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberty_Party_%281930s%29

Despite the name, these were a non-Stalinist left-winged Party who consisted of old bimetallist holdouts.

Hoover, but with hindsight, I'm not so sure.  If Hoover had implemented parts of the New Deal in a second term, then I'd stick with him in hindsight.
