Let's assume that the Indiana Governor's Residence contest in 2016 has come down to former U.S. Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN) and incumbent Governor Mike Pence (R), which has gained national attention on both sides of the political spectrum, with millions of $$$ being spent.

How do y'all see this matchup resulting in the end?

Well, Bayh hasn't been elected to anything in Indiana in ten years...

Madam Motley: Bayh left the United States Senate in 2011.

^Yes, so as of election day 2014 it will be a full decade since Evan Bayh's name has been on a ballot.

Mike Pence would probably win by a decent margin, as I remember reading that he is one of the more popular governors currently in office for whatever reasons.

I see it being very close in the polls, but: Pence 49% Bayh 49%, it takes weeks to announce a winner. Both of these candidates are perennial national office contenders and it may be one of the toughest races in the '16 cycle.

You can expect both the Democratic Governors Association and Republican Governors Association to spend $$$$ in TV Ads nonstop.
