I'm just curious if any of you on this forum have a religious website that you like above all of the other ones out there. It would be nice to know why you favor the website. By all means, hyperlink it in your post!

My favorite religious site is gotquestions.org. I like it because it is very calm in presenting information about Christianity and is very clear that the Bible is its ultimate source for answering questions that people send in. I also enjoy that the people at the site are willing to throw out a belief that might be favored by an influential denomination if they can't find it clearly rooted in the Bible.

I was just on that website.  That site is by far the best conservative/Evangelical website.  It doesn't go crazy into Illuminati, it's not *SATAN'S COMING FOR YOU*, or crap like that.   It's also surprisingly progressive on issues like stay-at-home dads and doesn't launch silly crusades (Harry Potter/R-rated movies) like other religious sites.  Yet it doesn't sugarcoat doctrines like hell which are clearly in the Bible(while there's contentious debate about it, I think many on this forum go too far in asserting its nonexistence/irrelevance).

Gotquestions is truly a great resource for Biblical questions.

I make use of that one as Bible Gateway seems to have the widest assortment of translations, but I also make use of http://biblehub.com and http://www.blueletterbible.org .  Bible Hub has a variety of associated sites, but I make use of it mainly for its interlinear bible.  Blue Letter Bible has the best concordance interface that I've found on the net so far.

GotQuestions is one-sided trash.  I'd have more respect for that site if they at least admitted that they adhere to a single religious POV rather than try to present itself as a reputable source.  There are far better sources for gathering information on Christianity, or any religion, for that matter.

Gotquestions is a decent site IMO, but I can't agree with everything I've read on there (such as their endorsement of worshipping on Sunday to "commemorate Jesus' resurrection.")  I don't have a single favorite religious website, since I don't visit religious sites often except on the Sabbath, but here are a few of them:

That sounds like a single religious viewpoint to me. I doubt that the Christians at gotquestions.org are trying to decieve people into thinking that their site is neutral when it comes to religious beliefs.

Anyhow, Scott, I thought your favorite site (patheos.com) was neat. It has a vast array of info, and even though I don't agree with all of it, it seems like a useful site.

Also, this particular page of a website is worthy of note. Smiley

https://www.barna.org

Atlas should love it because it's mostly polling. Group that does it is clearly a conservative evangelical outfit, but they're pretty unbiased in both their polls and how they present the findings, not to mention pretty nonjudgmental as well (no "This poll shows signs of America's descent into hell!" sort of thing.)

I'm not a fan of GotQuestions primarily because of how rigid a position they take on things like complementarianism despite being relatively open-minded and reasonable for a site of their theological bent on other things.

I've learned a lot about Catholicism from this site, though I am curious to see whether others here think there is reason to be skeptical of it.

I'm a fan of Puritan Board. It lets me keep up with the goings on in my denomination.
