>_> So...I think I got the most votes, but I don't know if I won the endorsement per say...Chairman Yankee, please advise?

EDIT: Dallasfan says the vote may still be going? I thought it had ended but I could be completely and utterly wrong.

DemPGH (6): Scott, Cris, Hifly, DC al Fine, Spamage, Devin,
Sirnick (13): ChairmanSanchez, Jack Enderman, JoMCaR, Cassius, rpryor03, RR1997, ElectionsGuy, Lumine, Rooney, TheRileyKeaton, Cathcon, Pingvin99, Oldiesfreak
NOTA (Cool: TJ, Hagrid, JCL, PiT, Tmth, Anton Kreitzer, Goldwater, Dereich
Total (27/50=54%)  DemPGH 22% Sirnick 48% NOTA (30%)

There is no majority requirement I know of it seems ridiculous to manifacture one where one does not exist to deny the vast plurality of votes its say. Sirnick/Dallasfan is endorsed by the Federalist Party for President and Vice President.

NE Senate
Deus: TJ, ChairmanSanchez, Hagrid, Jack Enderman, JCL, JoMCaR, PiT, Cris, DC al Fine, Cassius, rpryor03, RR1997, ElectionsGuy, Lumine, TheRileyKeaton, Goldwater, Cathcon, Devin, Pingvin99, Oldiesfreak
Write-in bore: Scott
(21/50=42%) Deus 95% Bore 5%

This one is obviously confusing and complex. Deus is so incredibly, unbelieveably, amazingly and stupendously endorsed by the Federalist Party (I said it was confusing, the pronouncement has to reflect the size of the margin Wink).

Friends -

I would like to thank the Federalist Party, on behalf of the SirNick/Dallasfan ticket, for their endorsement. We aspire to live up to your hopes and confidence regardless of who you voted for at the convention. Rest assured, Federalist concerns and ideas would be heard in a SirNick/Dallasfan Administration, and I hope we can earn the vote and confidence of every Federalist.

Together, we can keep fighting to protect the freedoms of speech, assembly, religion, the press and due process for they are essential components to a free society. Together, we can work to find a tax policy that makes sense for Atlasia. Together, we can continue ensuring that diplomacy, not warfare, is the cornerstone of our relationship with the rest of the world.

Most importantly, please remember to vote this weekend!

Best -

SirNick & Dallasfan

We thank to thank the federalist party for having considered our candidacy.
The fact that considering our party, we have been able to draw an impressive numberbof support and that zvery ticket failed to reach the majority, we consider that this is a good signing showing that if elected, we will be able to easily work with The federalist party!

Best regards,
Windjammer

Normally that is the last thing we do at the Convention. We still have to do bylaw and platform changes and there was some desired changes to the platform and after these votes I think we need some for the bylaws as well.

Okay, time to jump back to what we were doing the previous week. Bylaw and Platform amendemnts. I realize people will be distracted by the elections, but on the flip side that might actually draw more participation.

I could, as well.

Yank, would you like to appoint a Platform Committee? A member who represents each sort of interest group.

We did that back in early 2010 for the RPP but it failed from lack of interest.

How many members would be best?

I think that's just really dependent on interest and your discretion.

So, are we trying to expand the platform by making it more detailed, or do we want to stick with tick-points?  I have some ideas, but I don't want to submit an entire paragraph on one issue if the majority of the platform is comprised of one-sentence policy stances.

I would prefer something concise but specific.

My thoughts as well. Maybe a sentence or two per point, but making it too long is almost as bad as making it too short as then few will actually read it.

A detailed platform is harder to achieve, but I believe that simplicity won't help us make the contrast we desire, specially when Labor has the ability to release a manifesto every convention. Going with concise paragrahps could accomplish that as well, but I believe it's time to get specific on several issues that we have left mostly open until now (like foreign policy). In any case, I offer to participate in a potential Platform Committe if one is formed.

I did, and I would hope people take the time to read it as well (but yes, you're right, most people won't read it). Another argument that could be used here is that we're also having to deal with perceptions, that of Labor taking stands on most issues while we seem (emphasis in "seem") to use ideas in the general sense instead of advocating for specific policies or roads to follow.
