Voted HP by mistake; I have no idea why. I like him, but I'd have a thousand times more respect for him if he did what Chelsea Manning and be a martyr instead of an attention whore.

How is Snowden more of an attention whore than Manning?

The whole stripper girlfriend/flight to Moscow. Snowden is a literal freedom fighter but Manning turned himself herself in and is willing to give years of his life up.

Arguments to the contrary either try to pathologize his behavior or claim that he's undermined all credibility by fleeing to China and Russia, but neither his motivation nor his choice of asylum seem especially relevant to what is at stake. There isn't much reason to object to what he has done other than the repugnant idea that breaking the law necessarily makes an action wrong.

I don't have a strong opinion either way, but I absolutely do not believe he is a traitor. The vehement reaction to those in opposition to him make me more likely to lean towards the FF option. I'm far more concerned with the illegal and unconstitutional actions of the government.
