List of Lieutenant Governors, who were independently elected separately in no particular order:
1.) William P. Hobby, Jr., (D)-37th Lieutenant Governor of Texas from January 16, 1973-January 15, 1991

2.) John Cherberg (D)-13th Lieutenant Governor of Washington State from January 16, 1957-January 11, 1989
*32 years in office

3.) Victor A. Meyers (D)-11th Lieutenant Governor of Washington State from January 9, 1933-January 14, 1953

4.) Brad Owen (D)-15th Lieutenant Governor of Washington State since January 15, 1997.

5.) Zell Miller (D)-8th Lieutenant Governor of Georgia from January 14, 1975-January 14, 1991

6.) Ben Ramsey (D)-34th Lieutenant Governor of Texas from January 16, 1951-September 18, 1961
* resigned to become Railroad Commissioner

7.) David Dewhurst (R)-41st Lieutenant Governor of Texas from January 21, 2003-January 20, 2015

I know the TX Lt Gov position in strong, as was Georgia's in Zell's day; I bet the same is true in WA and OK. People keep a position like this longer if the job comes with real power
