Stoned on new Ambien.  Hopefully falling asleep soon.  But before I do, let's talk about horror movies.

Both staggeringly long horror film series which probably should have ended at the third movie but whose repetitive use of torture porn led them each to attain cult statuses.

For me: Saw (normal).  The directors obviously became more concerned about the gore and less about the beauty and simplicity of the traps as the series grew, yet at least their writers were competent enough to tie up most of the plot ends by the end of the last film which, admittedly, made for a pretty great series finale.  Now they're working on an eighth movie for God-knows-why.

Final Destination is basically the same movie over and over again with different characters placed in different contexts.  Possibly one of the worst horror movie sagas I've ever seen.

Friday the 13th. I've always loved how Jason Goes To Hell utterly ignores Jason Takes Manhattan. And how both sound like Earnest Borgnine movies.

Bump.  I may have been stoned when I wrote this last night, but I'm actually kind of curious. Tongue

I liked the first Saw movie, but all of the sequels are awful. Of course, having 1 decent movie in the sequence is a lot more than Final Destination, or most similar franchises, can say...

Saw is genuinely horrifying. FD is just ridiculous.
