I've taken a pretty hard shift on both indicators from my original test.

Economic Left/Right: -1.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 3.18

But both times I've taken this test (and other tests), I've come out as an authoritarian leftist.  One test still labeled me as a "Strong Republican" despite being an economic liberal because of my really conservative social views.

Anybody else got any labels to arbitrarily attach to me?  (BTW - I'm a registered Republican, I vote primarily Republican, and that won't change.)

Conservative populist?

Why the blue avatar, Alcon? You got the blues or something?

It just looks better, really.

You could make your own avatar with Paint or some such, and put it in your signature. Just take that avatar, and change the R to D.

There is the added bonus that it does not allow people to judge what I am saying based on my avatar. Sure, it is not the optimum idea, but at least it makes people consider what I am saying before rubber-stamping it as good or bad based on my avatar.

Not that I say anything of consequence.

Is it possible that I am the most right wing member of the forum?

A question for the more experienced: does the mock government have a party called "The Neo-Conservative party?"

You aren't the most conservative. You'd fit well into the State's Rights Party, as previously said.

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: 2.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.87

Wow. You are quite a libertarian there. Not much of a modern Republican, eh?

Hmmm... I guess I must have confused some answers before, because I just re-re-took it and got

Economic: 1.50

Social: 2.00

Not moving inbetween tests is very difficult to do, even if you re-test immediately afterwards.

See my signature.  I have only changed by -0.10 on my social scale, but my economic scale has moved -1.25, further to the left than it has ever been.

Congratulations. Your mean score is now negative. You're now a Democrat. ;)

(Just kidding, just kidding.)

Since there were two threads of this type, another in Individual Politics, I've merged the two and will now sticky this one just for convenience. :)

Hopefully that will help those who keep track of this sort of thing. Later I'll go through and delete any double posts if there have been any made.

Economic Left/Right: -6.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.67

not much has changed, though i may have become slightly more moderate:

Economic Left/Right: -6.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.36

i'm a little shocked by how centrist i have become......

Economic Left/Right: -3.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.36
Just make sure you stay populist.

In reality, a score that close together is not really populist - it's too close for that to matter so much. 3+ is generally where you see a clear difference.

Besides, he's still a social liberal - just slightly less socially liberal than economically. Smiley

Alcon, which economic issues are you conservative on?

I actually believe in a slightly different governmental function - instead of imposing quotas, the government should limit itself to simply researching and going after abusers.

Weird questions like that are generally part of the California F-Scale test to detect fascism. Which is stupid.

Another problem with the F scale-- what the hell does supernatural belief have to do with fascism?  If they take a common fascist like Hitler, he actually suppressed religions, not embraced them.  This test, including its ones stolen from the Political Compass, are just there to get liberal responses by poking fun at fundamentalists.  This one's even more worthless than the Vosdem Chart Test, and makes the Poitical Compass look like a god when it comes to accuracy.

It is related to psychological paranoia (i.e. "it isn't my fault! Life screwed me up!"-type thinking) and is observed in almost all dictators.

Ah.  In that case the Political Compass did a better way of wording those questions to make them look original, but then I'm biased since I took that test first.  Either way I still think the test is completely inaccurate, whether or not it's related to psychological paranoia, it comes off with a bad impression on me.

To be fair, this is more of a "fun" version of it than the Californian (original) version. In any case, though, it is not a political test - it is a personality test.

I have tried several times, but can't bring myself to finish this version. It's not very interesting.

I didn't see any new questions, but wow:

Economic Left/Right: 0.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 5.23

That's as far to the left I've been economically yet and around the same socially as I've been for months.

Economic Left/Right: 6.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.21

Wow, there's two changes.

When you came, weren't you in the negatives economically and positive socially?  And now your economics score is higher than your social score...so you, too, have fallen prey to the libertarianism. Smiley

Businesses, being a direct offshoot of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ, are obviously incapable of sin, eh States?

No person or entity is incapable of sin.

Well, that's not literally what I meant, but isn't +9 kind of allowing-businesses-to-do-whatever-they-want range?  You have a high social score and preach morality but let businesses do whatever the hell they want?
