Why is this a problem? In pursuit of happiness, grown adults ought to be able to seek the counseling or type of counseling they wish.

Because junk science isn't any less of a junk science just because it makes people feel good or think that it will make them feel good?

This is a religious liberty issue, but it's also a pursuit of happiness issue.

No, it's a consistency issue.  We prosecute people for selling junk with the false promise that they will change something or make life better for people.  When it comes to reparative therapy, either you're brainwashing people, or you're the one being brainwashed.

News flash: ex-gay therapy does not work.  But if you (CountryClassSF) hate being gay so much, by all means try it.  Be sure to come back and tell us all how it went.

You know, if I had money to blow, I'd probably meet with the guy in person and pay for the therapy myself in a state where it's legal.  (In other words, not his.)  That would make for a fun experiment.

I consider this platform a blessing to us gays who did not wish for our sexual orientation. The Texas GOP has given us a voice today. There is FINALLY some hope for real conservatism!

It's funny because one of the ten commandments is "thou shall not bear false witness," yet that's exactly what you do every time you pretend to be gay.  Rather selective reading, no?  Or did God tell you to ignore all the parts that can't be used to rationalize discrimination?

Actually that's what you're doing by insisting I'm "pretending" because I think as an individual rather than allowing Dan Savage to dictate what I believe

You expect people to believe you're a homosexual who freely uses terms like "the gay agenda."  Why should we assume that's for anything other than pure shock value?
