I have been thinking of moving lately, but I just can't think of where I'd want to move to.  MN may be pretty liberal, but that isn't what makes me want to move, it's the weather.  But then again there is so much opportunity here in MN.  MN is like the NY or CA of the middle of America.  I just wish it wasn't so cold.

My main reason for moving anywhere would be to avoid oppression and persue freedom, so yes, I think the reasons I move are political.

It would have to be an extreme situation for me to consider politics in moving states.

I don't think any state is so far left or right as to be unhabitable by anybody anywhere close to the mainstream in American politics.

Oh I assumed this included escaping the United States for a one of the freeer foreign lands.

You're very far outside the mainstream, if your views are really serious, which I highly doubt.

As I said in an earlier post, don't let the door hit you on the way out.  The USA will get along quite nicely without you.  It's not as if you were contributing anything to society.

I think moving out of Iowa would have a lot to do with the weather and the giant corn field that occupies 85% of the state. But, if I would move, I would probably move to a more liberal state, like California, New York, but most likely Massachusetts. I love those Red Soxs.

I wouldn't base my decision on politics alone, though it would be a small factor.

That said, most places that I'd like to move to (for other reasons) tend to be liberal.

If I moved, it would probably be to Maryland, so I guess politics would play no part in my decision.

Of course not. There is a chance that in the next 40 years I'll live in both Rhode Island and Wyoming.

I would like to move somewhere where there is less freedom, higher taxes, more government programs, and colder weather...    maybe Siberia.
