As has become clear with the recent push to have a constitutional convention, our current wording about what triggers one is confusing and misleading. This amendment would change that.

If we want to have a larger conversation about what triggers a constitutional convention I'd be open to that as well.

I will continue my record obstructing reform and being an obstacle to improving the game in all areas by supporting this obviously common sense proposal. Sarcasm ftw!!!

I'm amazed you could even see what my amendment was Tongue

Presumably, that's the only amendment, since this is so straightforward, or I would have waited for another amendment to come up.

This would make the process of calling a constitutional convention exponentially more difficult. As it stands, the law seems pretty clear that a majority of people in three regions would have to sign on to trigger a ConCon. If this were adopted, then we'd have to have a majority of people in all five regions. There'll never be a ConCon again if we pass this.

I'd support something like:

If it's not an offer I'll offer it:

The fact I got confused as to what triggers a convention sort of proves my point Tongue

I definetly support the "a majority of citizens in a majority of regions". As Griffin pointed out, a majority of citizens in all regions is much harder to achieve, and I remain convinced that a Constitutional Convention could help greatly help the game.

A final vote is now open on the aforementioned text.  Senators, please vote Aye, Nay, or Abstain.

Given the amendment is just a clarification and not actually changing the law as long as the language is clear, (and I think it is) we can proceed to a final vote.

Ok, I'm interpreting Cincy's post as saying there's a vote open, since he literally says there's a vote open.

Aye

Changing my vote to Nay because it's not worth passing this then passing Griffin's one as well.

Nay.

It arguably is more than a clarification, since I would have interpreted the current language as a majority in each region.  At least this amendment should show exactly which language is being changed so people are not misled when they vote on it.
