Seeing a lot of conservatives on the internet now referring to Clinton as a "rapist", not to mention Rand Paul calling him a "sexual predator" and urging Democrats to disown him. Would attacking Bill in 2016 backfire for the GOP candidate? I don't see how Lewinsky can possibly hurt Hillary.

1) There's considerable evidence that he was a rapist/sexual predator.

2) This should have no effect on Hillary whatsoever. Not saying that it won't, but it should not.

The country has largely moved on from the Lewinsky affair.  Even the most ardent conservative voters aren't hell bent on that any more.  The media is trying to bring it up again, but I don't think it will have an effect on the campaign either way.

The effects would be complex.

The country's rather partisan, so Republicans will be outraged at rehashed details and most Democrats won't care.

The best aspect of this for Republicans would be the exposure of the dirty laundry of the Clintons to the youngest voters, audiences that might not be as familiar with the mess, and are less likely to see it in purely partisan terms.

I think Republicans might argue that Hillary... Lewinsky... Benghazi... socialized medicine... in order to kill Vince Foster because of White Water.  It all makes sense!!!

I doubt it will have any effect either way. It will just be them preaching to the right wing echo chamber.

Aside from Rand Paul, which well-known Republican has mentioned Lewinsky recently?

At best it's another Benghazi.

They didn't learn their lesson back in '96 and '98, why should they have learned by 2016? It didn't work then and it won't now.

It won't work unless Bill is caught again... and the older he gets the less likely it should be, for him to be having affairs with anyone.
