Massive FB. Smiley

"Mr. Brightside" is the song that defines the 2000s decade for me. I love most of Hot Fuss, Sam's Town, and Day & Age, but I admit I don't really care for their recent stuff, nevertheless I will always love the group.

Good album. Never really connected with their stuff after that but that's mostly on me as I never went out of my way to check it out, really.

Freedom Band. I think their peak in my esteem was probably Sam's Town; I haven't really been following what they've done since then.

I don't think it holds up nearly as well as Interpol or the Strokes when it comes to retro 2000s rock, but I liked the first half of Hot Fuss.  I thought pretty much everything after that was kind of a derivative mess, though, instead of a catchy derivative mess.  Mixed bag, lean not my favorite.

That kind of makes me feel old. FB, though. There were three songs on that album I particularly loved (Smile Like You Mean It, Mr. Brightside, and Somebody Told Me).

pretty much to millennials (lol that word) what this atrocity was to the boomers/very early xers:

if someone admits to liking either its hard for me to take their opinion on anything musical seriously from that point on. call me a hp if you want but i can't help it.

Stupid lyrics, for a band that seems like it's trying to be reasonably serious.
