I've always been more in favor of longer, immutable punishments and won't support this amendment. I want to ask in advance that we have a vote on this, even if Maxwell considers it friendly.

Sorry, I completely forgot about this.  This is a good amendment to work with.

Who would be in charge of extending the sentences at the end of the 21 years?

We could always use the Florida system: a parole board made up of the Emperor and the Cabinet. If you wanted to adjust that for the IDS you could add the Speaker and the Judicial Overlord.

The courts would be in charge of reviewing each case and extending sentences, I would assume.

The extension period seems rather rigid - that may be too much depending on the crime.

Also does the extension add to the 21 years?

Once you hit the end of your sentence or are scheduled to be released the court can step in and extend if necessary.

Considering this approach does not presently exist in this fashion, then it would be wise to probably insert the process in which it is to be carried out.

With Maxwell's permission I'm going to start a vote on the amendment in two hours if there is no more debate on it.

Is there any concern for potential abuse/discrimination of some kind occuring whereby certain people get extended and others not for the same crime?

Well, as long as its decided by people and not by some objective system that danger will always exist. Since we trust the initial sentencing to a jury and judge who could have the same potential for abuse and discrimination, I don't think there would be much cause to treat this differently.

Since Maxwell is on LOA, is it fair to say this bill is in limbo?
