I can think of a few places I've had them where they were so good I'd eat them with my morning coffee if I could.

Yum.

I actually ordered some of those at a restaurant in Iowa a few years ago.  I shared an appetizer of pickled fries, or was it called fried pickles.  I think it was called fried pickles.  Pickled cucumbers battered in some cornflour paste and deep fried in oil.  Very tasty.  I think we had some sort of mayonnaise-based dipping sauce to go with it.  Would definitely eat them again.  FF.

I like the pickles that start out real sweet and then get a kick to them.

Never tried them, but 'fried' usually means heart attack, so...

Did you watch the episode of Chopped last night, by chance? It was a repeat of the special "Fry, Fry Again" episode from last year and one of the mystery items was bread and butter chips. Just wondering because this is an odd coincidence if you didn't see it lol.

Personally, I've never had the chance to try them, but I would imagine they taste pretty good. Mozzy sticks are the best fried snack though and can't be replaced.

I've had really, really good fried pickles and really, really bad fried pickles.  I like 'em but always leery about ordering them at places unknown.

I've never had them before. I would try them, but only at a reputable location. What do people generally use as a dipping sauce for them?

Typically Ranch dressing. Hooters has a pinkish tangier take on the sauce (which is prob my fave..I know, classy and all lol).

I've been to Hooters. The food wasn't bad at all. I thought someone might have said Ranch dressing. That just seems very odd to me. I've never combined that with pickles in any form (although I do use Ranch dressing for a variety of other fried foods).

A bit off topic, but for those that like to add just a bit of heat, I almost always add some Sriracha sauce to my Ranch dressing when I use it as a dipping sauce.

Somehow I can't really imagine pickles being fried.
You really sure that's good?

Don't care for ordinary pickles, so while I doubt frying could make them worse, I don't see where they'd make them better.

Never had them, but I don't especially care to have them.  I'd rather have a Scottish deep-fried pizza or Mars bar, or go to that diner in Memphis that deep fries their burgers in 102-year old grease.

Did a fry-cook and a stoner get drunk together and come up with those?

Okay, I had to google this.  Apparently one can actually purchase deep-fried pizza and deep-fried mars bar, and apparently many people actually do.

Hit a state fair sometime, there's pretty much nothing they won't drop in a fryer.

They're even better if they're a spicier pickle to give it a little more zing and it mixes even better with the ranch dipping sauce.

Delicious, of course. But I'm only replying to correct everyone with the ridiculous misconception about mozzarella sticks being the best appetizer when that title obviously goes to jalapeno poppers. Shame on you.
