I made a poll like this last year: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=180066.0

But now we have 4 cities narrowed down: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/2014/06/13/usoc-2024-olympics-bid-city/10460881/

In this poll you can vote for 2 cities, and in the next round the city with the lowest votes will be removed.

Boston and San Francisco

It's hard enough already to get around in DC. And LA doesn't need anymore attention.

DC or Chicago. Location-wise, if you want as many Americans as possible to be able to travel to the actual Olympics, these two are the best options. Chicago probably could use it more, provided they want it. SF has techno elitism now, middle class families will be priced out of the Bay Area by 2024. No thanks.

I'd most like to see San Francisco get it. However, I think LA is the safest bet to bring the Olympics back to the US for 2024. Those two cities get my vote. Our best chance is a West Coast city. If we put either of them up, I think the US has a very strong shot at hosting.

After Atlanta no one outside America wants it back there ever again. Why do you not understand this?

Washington (mainly because I would be able to attend some of the events easily) or Boston.

California is crowded enough as it is (this applies more to Los Angeles than San Francisco).

Out of these choices, not Los Angeles again.

But I agree with what Comrade Sibboleth said above. There was a lot of controversy around Atlanta. There was also the revenue issue with the IOC and USOC, which seems to have been resolved, but caused issues for previous USOC bids (New York for 2012 and Chicago for 2016). In all honesty, I'd say this Olympics will be in Europe.. I'd guess Paris.

I think a lot of that stemmed from the perception that Atlanta was a minor city- equivalent to some remote village in sticks or somesuch silliness.

It's not just that. Many people thought Atlanta got it because Coca-Cola (a huge sponsor for the Olympics) is based in Atlanta. In addition to the bombing, people thought the Olympics were overcommercialized, and many athletes complained about the American crowds (for example, many gymnasts could not hear their floor music during their performances).

Yeah, I'm also not a fan of driving people out of their homes to build a giant ass stadium.

1. SF
2. Boston
3. DC

4. LA (since it already has hosted the Olympics in 84'.)
