My favorite would probably be late 2000 to early 2001.  As for a least favorite, I'm not so sure.  Pretty much every year of my life was wonderful until about late 2001/early 2002.  The first eight or nine years of my life were the true halcyon days for me that will never come back, no matter how hard I may wish and yearn for them.
In the late summer/fall of 2001, a bunch of things all came crashing down on me at once.  First, of course, was 9/11.  Then, my aunt and uncle moved to Texas.  They had lived in the Chicagoland region my whole life, and their kids (my cousins) were the closest to brothers or sisters I ever had, especially since I was an only child.  Since they lived within a day's drive, we saw them quite often, and when they moved away, it was very traumatic for me; I've never fully recovered from it, and I doubt I ever will.  Since then, I've only seen them once every few years.  (It's been good for them, though, and I'm happy for that.)  The next few years of my life were pretty rotten overall.  In 2002, y mom got into a relationship with a guy who I liked all right at the time, but he turned out to be kind of a jerk.  About 2003, I started developing depression and PTSD, which lasted for several more years.  I started high school in 2007, and that was actually an awesome experience for me, although not enough to make those good years overall.  Since I graduated high school in 2011, however, I think my life has been mostly on an upswing.  But 2012 was a pretty rough year for me.  My dog (that I'd had for most of my life) died, President Obama was reelected, and a whole bunch of other rotten stuff happened.  Other than that, though, my life has been pretty good since mid-to late 2011.

Late 2001 to early 2002 would probably have to be my least favorite, because that's when everything great about my childhood began falling apart.

In terms of overall happiness and feeling good, some time between 3 and 9.  But in reality, this year would be my favorite year, I'm doing pretty good and I actually remember it (more or less).

The worst year would be 1983....hepatitis is a bitch.

I was going to post my tenth grade year.  For a long time, it was my favorite and least favorite.  Later, it occurred that 2001 was a very interesting year for me.  I'm not sure, to be honest, which is my favorite and least favorite year, but it is likely to have been the same year.

Best: 2009, 2007, 2004
Worst: 2013, 2010

The best all have in common great summers. Last year was just awful, especially the first half of the year.

Favorite Year:
2010 EDIT: 2010 and 2012 tie.

Least Favorite:
A 2013/2014 tie.

I was looking through my very old posting history just out of boredom and came across this thread. I would like to make some changes.  First of all, 2014 is now officially the worst year of my life so far. This is because I lost some loved ones this year (I refuse to go into detail) and I've just had bad luck overall. I'm still optimistic about my future though. Plus life and my has gotten better since Novmber has started, but it's just the period between April to October that has been absolutely dreadful. Also now that I think about it, 2012 and 2010 are tied for my favorite years of my life so far. 2014 is also coming near an end, so I want to see if anyone's opinion of the year has changed since June.

2012 was the worst and this year has been the best, though there were good memories from 2012 and bad memories from 2014.  And none of this had to do with elections.
