I don't understand how anyone can admire Bush. I mean I can get admiring Obama, the guy has a pretty good life story and all that, etc. but Bush? Just some rich asshole who used homophobia to win the governorship of Texas, racism to win the GOP nomination, and then fraudulently "won" the Presidency twice. Like, how is that person worthy of even the slightest admiration by any sane individual?

Even if she doesn't win the Presidency, Hillary is quite likely to hold onto this title for the rest of her life - so another 20 years maybe, which would mean a 40-year long dominance.

Simple, it's not a net popularity chart.  I remember back in the '70s TV Guide did a poll that showed that Howard Cosell was both the most popular person on television and the most hated person on television at the same time.  The same dynamic is at work here.

This is a strange chart; why would Laura Bush be the most admired woman in 2001? I mean, who even knows her? She was never iconic as First Lady like Hillary or Michelle.

She was the new first lady and had received a good deal of attention in the preceding campaign. If Al had gotten into the White House, Tipper would likely have gotten the top spot in the poll that year.
