Its disturbing that people admire politicians.

How the hell did Bush make that list in '06 and '07?

Simple, it's not a net popularity chart.  I remember back in the '70s TV Guide did a poll that showed that Howard Cosell was both the most popular person on television and the most hated person on television at the same time.  The same dynamic is at work here.

This is a strange chart; why would Laura Bush be the most admired woman in 2001? I mean, who even knows her? She was never iconic as First Lady like Hillary or Michelle.

She was the new first lady and had received a good deal of attention in the preceding campaign. If Al had gotten into the White House, Tipper would likely have gotten the top spot in the poll that year.
