If so, I'm curious to hear a little about what that's like.

For example, does the campaign staff know who you are? Or do they think you're just a really obsessed fan?
If they do know who you are, how do they treat you?
Is it a boring job?
What's the pay like?
Do supporters of the pol you tracked heckle you?

I volunteered for it, but the campaign I worked for didn't use them. I did visit an Obama office to get tickets for an event in which he would be campaigning alongside our rival and Bill Nelson and pretended to be a young Democrat trying to get tickets for a girl who I wanted to impress (which was somewhat true-I asked for more tickets than were needed so I could have taken her). The campaign sent me because I was the only person not wearing the campaign polo shirts that had just came in the day before.

The other campaign employed this really, really hot young blonde girl as their tracker, and she was really nice. I kinda got to know her since she sat in her car all day outside the office. Once I bumped into her at Big City Pizza across the street where I often went for lunch. I wanted to have a political conversation with the fantasy of drawing something out of her (and learning for my own benefit on how to track somebody) but I didn't work up the nerve, smiled, said hello, and ate outside.

No, but I think I'd enjoy it.

^Lol, I know. To be clear, I'm not asking because I'm considering becoming one. I don't think I have the acumen for it. I just have always been curious about the job.

An article about trackers in the Alaska Senate race.
