A raven to Catelyn Stark (currently in Riverrun)

Mother! The news I have just received from your uncle in Harrenhal will no doubt fill your heart with joy, as it did mine. Our dear Arya is now safe under his guard! She was found when the troops entered the fortress, where she was held prisoner. Unaware of her name, Tywin's troops apparently mistook her for a lowborn orphaned boy. Brynden has not yet been able to inquire the details of her flight from King's Landing, but she must doubtless have displayed uncommon bravery and wit to escape for so long and go so far. She truly is a Stark.

I shall immediately have her escorted back to Riverrun, where you will be able to hold her in your arms once again. As impatient as I am to see her as well, the harsh necessities of warfare command me to delay this moment.  We also will soon liberate Sansa from King's Landing. Victory is near, and if we can seize our advantage, the Starks shall soon stand again, united and unbent.

-- Your son Robb

A raven to Balon Greyjoy

Lord Balon,

The North is grateful for your mercy toward our lands and your help in crushing the Lannister forces. Rest assured that we will always remember this gesture - and repay it when needed. May this common cause form the stepping stone to a lasting amity between the Starks and Greyjoys.

However, my scouts have reported that a small Ironborn contingent is still in control of Bear Island, where it holds hostage among our Mormont bannermen. If your good intents toward the North are authentic, you surely must surrender this land as well, as it has always been an integral part of the North's territory. I have no doubt that the Ironborn presence in that isle is merely an unfortunate delay and does not imply hostile intents toward us. I hope this minor issue will be swiftly resolved.

-- Robb of the House Stark, First of his Name, King in the North

A Proclaim:

In reiteration of my previous edict, I must stress once again that no needless damage must be made to the enemy lands now under our control, and that Westerlander civilians must not suffer abuses from our troops. We encourage our allies from the Reach and the Iron Isle to do the same, for the sake of avoiding further wounds in this bitter war.

299 AL (2), or "Tywin Lannister vs. the World": (Part I)

General View:

As the Houses move to fight, it has become evident that House Lannister is at a disadvantage. Recent losses and defeats in battle mean that their situation is precarious, but the ruthless Tywin Lannister has brought a massive sellsword army and expects to fight his way back to victory. Stannis is now the strongest claimant to the Iron Throne, but many hope he gets out of Dragonstone to finally lead his forces into battle. Daenerys Targaryen has finally arrived on Pentos, back where she started, so the war is bound to grow more and more complicated as time goes by.

Quotes:

"Our King is born of incest, brother sleeping with sister! Those who live in the Red Keep offend the gods, they should be destroyed!"
(A priest from King's Landing)

"The free city of Myr fear to announce that the Golden Company has left our lands by declaring their contract finished. They were last seen sailing North, apparently sailing to Pentos."
(A Magister of Myr)

Info:

Tyrion Lannister:
-Prestige: 5/10 (The situation keeps worsening in King's Landing)
-Gold: 50.000 GD of his own money (Crown debts increasing).
-Legitimacy: 5/10 (Council still too small, authority challenged)

-The Crownlander Army is here and your father was recently defeated in Stokeworth, which means that the Sellsword Army in Cracklaw Point is now the hope of King's Landing. Pyromaster Hallyne reports that large quantities of wildfire are prepared in case of a siege. THe biggest problem comes from the smallfolk, as the presence of so many troops and the blockade means food is scare, and Bronn fears massive riots if this keeps going.

Stannis Baratheon:
-Prestige: 7/10 (Military reputation)
-Gold: 350.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 7/10 (No changes yet)

-Your vassals have praised you for your parley with Renly, but Lord Sunglass continues to undermine Melisandre and Lord Velaryon grows restless, stating that now it's the time to strike and leave Dragonstone once and for all. On the other hand, Melisandre has requested of you that a temple to the Red God is to be built once you take King's Landing.

Tywin Lannister:
-Prestige: 5/10 (Defeated and tricked, he is quickly losing prestige)
-Gold: 3.300.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 10/10 (Still undisputed Lord of the Westerlands)

-Your army managed to escape Randyll Tarly and regroup, and with the forces of the Crownlands and Swift's sellswords you stand a fighting chance, at least for now. Tyrion is doing everything he can, but Joffrey is reportedly going unstable, as Cersei is. Your leg injury is not looking bad, but it's also a source of problems.

Renly Baratheon:
-Prestige: 3/10 (Low after surrendering his crown, but some factors are positive)
-Gold: 725.000 GD (No debts)
-Legitimacy: 4/10 (Low after surrendering his crown)

-While your bannermen have been extremely dissapointed with your parley with Stannis, your campaign in the Gold Road has brought you enough prestige to avoid danger from them. However, the biggest news is that Margaery is finally pregnant with your child, so by the end of the year you should finally have your heir. Mya Stone has also arrived on Storm's End, sent by Lord Royce at your request.

Balon Greyjoy:
-Prestige: 8/10 (Up and up after the Westerlands campaign)
-Gold: 400.000 GD (Spoils from the Westerlands)
-Legitimacy: 8/10 (Unchallenged)

-Asha and Victarion have been sucessful in their raids, but they need more men and they ask you to personally take the field and lead the Ironborn against the Lannisters. Euron went to Qarth after spending months in Asshai, and he seems to be sailing back home without a clear motive.

299 AL (2), or "Tywin Lannister vs. the World": (Part II)

Info:

Robb Stark:
-Prestige: 8/10 (Up after recent victories)
-Gold: 550.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 8/10 (Up after finding Arya, but the Lords are unhappy with letting the Ironborn do as they please)

-Congratulations, your grace, the Blackfish now holds Harrenhal, the Lannisters are being expulsed from the Riverlands and the way to the Westerlands is finally open. Furthermore, Arya will soon be arriving to Riverrun, meaning that only Sansa and the sword Ice are left to recover in King's Landing. The Starks are finally in a position to win this war against Tywin, something not many could have predicted.

Mace Tyrell:
-Prestige: 7/10
-Gold: 2.900.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 10/10 (Unchallenged as the Lord of the Reach)

-Once again, good job, Lord Tyrell! While you have sadly witnessed Margaery losing her crown, your troops have been very sucessful against their enemies despite the losses. Garlan and Lord Tarly report they need reinforcements, though. As other armies weaken and the Reach still holds a good number of reserves, it seems everything will be fine for you, at least for the time being.

Doran Martell:
-Prestige: 7/10
-Gold: 800.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 8/10

-Your new ships have been delivered to Sunspear, but they are not of really good quality, so use them wisely. Your son Quentyn is already in Pentos, so House Martell finally has a chance to swear loyalty to one of the claimants. Fire and Blood!

Daenerys Targaryen:
-Prestige: 6/10
-Gold: 12.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 7/10

-At least, you are in Pentos, recalling the memories of your wedding to Khal Drogo and your fights with Viserys. You entered Magister Illyrio's mansion with your retainers: Lord Quentyn (and his companions, including Ser Archibald Yronwood), Ser Barristan, Ser Jorah and Captain Groleo (commander of Illyrio's ships) to meet with the mysterious man, who has showered you with flattery. Through his double talk and tricks, Illyrio has revealed he has friends waiting in Westeros to rise for you, and he offers you the fleet and the army of Pentos... for a price. Illyrio has always wanted the position of Master of Coin, and he wishes to reserve a seat in the Small Council for one of his friends as well. The magister has also announced that the Golden Company has showed interest is retuning with you to Westeros as long as they are given titles, and he asks you to meet them as soon as they arrive on the city. Westeros is right there, will you take it?

Lysa Arryn:
-Prestige: 5/10
-Gold: 600.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 5/10

-A series of wise moves and better communication have increased your prestige to avoid a clash with the Vale Lords, and they await the signal to finally get on their horses and charge at the enemy (hopefully not King Robb). Littlefinger is growing a little bit restless after losing Harrenhal, and he has reportedly brought over a lot of sellswords loyal to him to the Eyrie.

OOC: Except that isn't the best example given that its pretty well established that ShowTywin really had believed that Joffrey, Myrcella, and Tommen were really Robert's children with Cersei.  That said, the point is still well taken.

A raven to Robb Stark

Lord Stark,

We look forward to cooperating in our mutual interest against those who would declare themselves sovereigns over all of Westeros. Your scouts are correct in their assessment: Bear Island was maintained as a tactical naval base against any navy's attempts to interfere with our own while the bulk of our fleet sailed south to Pyke. Seeing that the Lannisters no longer possess any sort of navy, we shall return the territory to your bannermen.

POV Udpate:

-Note: You have one day to react, tomorrow night comes the war results.

DAENERYS:

As Dany surveyed the faces of her new lieutenants and supporters, she felt a surge of pride inside her. Perhaps some of them weren´t the best allies, but it was hundreds of times better than what little support Viserys had. She had an army, she had powerful allies, and she would sail to Westeros to bring justice to the Usurper’s dogs and claim her… home? She wasn’t sure yet, as the dreams of her life with Ser Willem Darry and Viserys still haunted her. She had a truly enormous collection of people from both Essos and Westeros: The fat Magister Illyrio, smug and satisfied, her loyal knights, Ser Jorah and Ser Barristan, the Captains of the Golden Company, Ser Harry Strickland, Lysono Maar, Ser Laswell Peake, Ser Marq Mandrake and countless other mercenaries and sellswords, her faithful captain Groleo and his new Pentoshi navy, her Dothtraki handmaidens and bloodriders and of course… her new husband, Quentyn Martell. Prince Quentyn -Dany was still not used to seeing him as her King consort- had proposed to her in Volantis, and while he was not the most exciting and brave of men, he was responsible and dutiful, a good King for the Seven Kingdoms.

She had wanted to keep it a secret, but to no avail. They had married a few days ago in Illyrio’s mansion with all the Pentoshi aristocracy, all while the Golden Company drank for their new Queen. A dragon was still a dragon, red or black, and the Blackfyre pretenders were gone. They were all now seated on a room, watching a massive map of Westeros while planning the second Targaryen conquest of the Seven Kingdoms, making history. As her courtiers argued on the landing zone, she couldn’t help but to wonder what would Aegon the Conqueror think. Would he be proud? Disappointed? And what would Viserys think if he could see her?

“Your Grace!” Groleo had been absent from the meeting, and he had just entered the room with haste. “You have a… visitor. A most unexpected visitor.”
“Who is him, Groleo?”
“He… he comes from Westeros, your grace, with an entire fleet.” All of Dany’s retainers almost jumped from their chairs.
“You fool, have you alerted out navy?” Illyrio blurted out.
“He comes in peace, your grace. He requested a meeting, and he asked to be brought before you. He waits outside.”
“A visitor from Westeros with a navy?” Daenerys would have given everything to find Lord Redwyne or Lord Velaryon, she knew those Lords had always been loyal to her House during the war. “He may enter the room.”
“Daenerys, do you think this is a good idea?” Quentyn was worried.
“Let him in, Groleo.”

He was a handsome man, no doubt about it. Smooth faced, with a beard and long hair, he was dressed in black and green colors and he seemed prepared for a fight. He smiled and approached Dany while Ser Jorah and Ser Barristan put their hands on their swords, and the visitor laughed.

“No worries, Sers, I have no reason to fight with the Dragon Queen.”
“Your name, my Lord?” Dany asked, confused about his identity.
“Baelor Blacktyde, your grace. Lord of Blacktyde, Captain of the Nightflyer and envoy from the Seastone Chair. King Balon sends his regards.”

An Iron Islander? He was certainly the most unexpected of those who could have gone to seek an audience, save perhaps for a stag or a lion. The Golden Company seemed bored with Lord Blacktyde, but Jorah looked at him harshly and Ser Barristan was unmoved.

“Balon Greyjoy crowned himself King a few months ago, your grace.” Ser Jorah reminded her. “He probably thinks he can repeat his folly and rebel against the rest of Westeros.”
“We have been rather successful, I must say.” Lord Baelor was perhaps one of the few Ironborn that was well mannered, in no doubt thanks to his years in Oldtown. “So far we have sacked the Westerlands and the North, including Ser Jorah’s Bear Island.”
“I heard the news.” Ser Jorah stepped forward. “It might be a good time to seek revenge.”
“Ser Jorah, please.” Dany stopped him, she had no intention of provoking a fight. “I don’t see why a Greyjoy fleet would come all the way to Pentos unless you mean to kill me.”
“Not at all, your grace. I come with a few ships and fewer men, but I have an offer for you.” He looked at Ser Barristan and Ser Jorah and took a pause. “King Balon is interested in assisting your efforts, and I have come to offer you my fleet to help you land in Westeros.”

The silence Lord Blacktyde’s words caused was absolute, and everybody looked at Daenerys to see her reaction. The Queen was silent, wondering about the Greyjoys and how they were one of the few major Houses who hadn’t joined the war of the Usurper at all.

Eventually, she spoke.

ARYA:

They had been riding for days and days, and Riverrun was closer, she was sure of it. It was a miracle that her great-uncle had recognized her back in Harrenhal, and her nightmare was over, it seemed. The Blackfish had talked to her and even spoiled her in some regards, and then she was sent under a heavy escort back to her mother. Finally, after months, she would see her family, and she couldn’t help but feel insecure about the meeting. Robb was a King now, and that made her a Princess as well, a thought she didn’t enjoy. If a Lady was forced to do all those ridiculous and unnecessary things, a Princess would surely have it worse. At least she could talk freely now, as she rode along Gendry, Hot Pie – as she had strangely grown fond of them and asked them to come to Riverrun – and her uncle Edmure’s bannermen, a few dozen knights led by Lord Mallister, probably one of the bravest Riverlords. Lord Mallister was in many ways what Arya would have wanted to be, a fierce and brave warrior, a man who feared nothing.

“How long for Riverrun?”
“Still a couple of days, my Princess.” Mallister answered. “The roads are still filled with refugees.”

And they were many of them. What Arya had seen while traveling with Yoren was nothing, Gregor Clegane, Vargo Hoat and the Brave Companions had sacked the Riverlands and killed and raped everything they could find. The more devastation she saw, the more names she added to her prayer, including Clegane and Hoat as soon as she saw some of the bodies they had hanged near the Inn of the Kneeling Man. She would get her revenge, someday. In the meantime, there were other things to do. They were travelling through a road in the middle of the thick forest, and it seemed they would have to stop for a few minutes.

“Clear the road!” Mallister demanded.
“I can’t, m’lord.” It was a farmer with his carriage stuck in the mud of the road. “I can’t move it.”
“Seven Hells. Help that man, will you?”

Some Tully soldiers dismounted and quickly approached the farmer, who smiled. In a matter of seconds, and before she could blink they were all dead and in the ground. The farmer took a sword and from the carriage other armed jumped, and crossbows started to kill even more of the escorts. Lord Mallister barely avoided one of the arrows and fell of his horse, all while Arya and Gendry looked for a way of the ambush and the soldiers scrambled to protect them. A couple of men in horseback went and cut a line across the Tullys, with the leader of them dismounting Gendry and punching Arya hard enough for her to fall from her horse as well. The leader then grabbed her and rode back, hoping to get inside the forest and get lost while the rest of his men fought the Tullys back before their used their superior numbers to win the fight. Arya tried to recover, and she saw that the rider was no other than Vargo Hoat, the Goat. Hatred fueled her, but she had lost needle and if she didn’t act quick, Hoat would go far enough for her to be lost again… again, and this time she would probably never come back to her family. No. Never again. Arya grabbed Hoat’s knife before he could react properly and then stabbed him through the belly several times, forcing him to fall and take both of them to the ground. The Qohorik tried to get his sword and strike at Arya before it was too late, but she had lost a part of her humanity there. It wasn’t a girl what was attacking him, it was a she-wolf. Cut after cut, Arya turned the mercenary into a bloody pulp, and then fell back, exhausted. One name less for her prayer.

“Princess Arya, Princess Arya!” Lord Mallister and his riders appeared shortly after, shocked at the macabre situation. “Dear gods, are you well?”
“Yes…” She answered, getting back on her feet with the help of the Riverlord.
“Vargo Hoat.” Jason Mallister spat on the ground. “Good riddance, I say.”
“I… I think so as well.”

And then she started to laugh.

CERSEI:

She was going for the second cup of wine when someone knocked on the door. She hoped it was not Tyrion this time, she could swear she was very close to killing him. Dismissing Janos Slynt, slapping Joffrey, giving her orders while father lost battle after battle… It was too much for the proud Lioness to handle. Thankfully, it was Lancel who entered. Cersei didn’t really know what had possessed her to bed her cousin, who had been nothing more than a weak mouse before Robert died. Still, it was something, and without Jaime here Cersei thought she was going mad every day.

 “Lancel.”
“Your Grace. Grand Maester Pycelle got a few ravens, he wishes to see you in his chambers.”
“That imbecile is trying to summon me?” Cersei almost spat those words. “Bring him to me now, and if he has the nerve to have me summoned again, I’ll have Ser Ilyn give him a special treatment, is that understood?”
“Yes, your Grace.”

By the time Pycelle got her chambers, she had almost fallen asleep in the bed Robert had died – it gave her the sweetest dreams while sleeping in such a nice place – and it took her some seconds to recover. She disliked Pycelle, but he was one of the few who seemed at least loyal, so he tolerated the old lecher as long as he proved useful.

“Your Grace, news from the Riverlands.”
“I am listening.”
“Lysa Arryn has called the banners and more than twenty thousand of the Knights of the Vale have just left the Vale itself, they march under Lord Royce and Lyn Corbray.”
“So, the Arryn b***h finally comes for our heads.”
“Not quite, your Grace. That army is marching onto Darry and the Riverlands, it seems Lady Lysa is joining us.”
“Littlefinger was successful?” Cersei couldn’t believe it, having the Arryns on their was just was the Lannisters needed to fight Stannis back.
“It seems so, your grace, but he remains at the Eyrie.”
“Excellent. You are dismissed then, Grand Maester.”
“Of course, your Grace.”

It was not going to be a bad day after all. As long as she didn’t have to see Tyrion, of course. Cersei also avoided Joffrey, she wanted some peace that day, and so she focused on drinking, bedding Lancel and then taking the time to watch Tommen and Myrcella play in the gardens. A relaxing day compared to the others, that much she could tell. If only Jaime was back…

“Your Grace, we have problems.” It was Ser Arys Oakheart, one of those useless Kingsguards.
“What is going on, Ser Arys?”
“The Baratheons, your Grace. They are moving forces along the Gold Road and their fleet moves towards here as well. It seems they plan to strike at King’s Landing once and for all.”

Instead of replying to Ser Arys, Cersei just turned around and poured the sixth cup of wine. It was going to be a long night in the Red Keep.

OOC: we didn't sack Bear Island, not properly at least. We occupied it, but since we used it as a base of operations for a couple turns we intentionally didn't sack it or harm the local population/lords. Didn't want to intentionally provoke violence in the area we were basing a fleet in.

I know, the Mormonts weren't harmed as well, but Blacktyde always struck me as a little bit arrogant in AFFC and he knows they have heard the stories on the invasion, so I put that line based on some traits.
