These tickets seem pretty well balanced, and at least likely enough for discussion. How would this play out?

Gillibrand/Locke would win. Walker/Rubio would be able to take WI, IA, CO, and FL, but Gillibrand/Locke is able to hold onto OH and VA.

Great Night for Republicans:

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker/Florida Senator Marco Rubio - 311 electoral votes

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand/Former Ambassador to China Gary Locke - 227 electoral votes

Acceptable Night for Republicans:

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker/Florida Senator Marco Rubio - 276 electoral votes

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand/Former Ambassador to China Gary Locke - 262 electoral votes

Acceptable Night for Democrats:

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand/Former Ambassador to China Gary Locke - 293 electoral votes

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker/Florida Senator Marco Rubio - 245 electoral votes

Great Night for Democrats:

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand/Former Ambassador to China Gary Locke - 303 electoral votes

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker/Florida Senator Marco Rubio - 235 electoral votes

I was tempted to make this election closer for the Republican's good night, since I view both Gillibrand and Walker as strong candidates, but I don't see any reason why a winning Republican couldn't peel off at least one of the  D+1 states like Colorado and Pennsylvania, especially since they were the tipping points last time.

My one quibble with this scenario is that Walker has already implied that he would want a governor as a running mate, which would exclude options like Rubio.

I'd wait for a bit before ruling out Walker, considering past accusations against him didn't stick...

I think people are underestimating Gillibrand as a candidate.

I don't think Locke was born in the US and also he's been dead for 300 or so years.

I don't think so. I mean, Gillibrand doesn't really represent anything, so she could mold into whatever she wants, but Walker is probably a better candidate.

Wisconsin is one of the states least friendly to political scandal.

What about John Locke from LOST? He appeals to the disabled...and average Americans because he loves hunting...he's also a strong strategist...only problem might be his age but he would balance well with the youthful Gillibrand.
