I believe the ultimate swing voter is either a fairly young white or an older person who's not entirely white, but more like 70-85% white. However, it depends on sex. The female swing voter is likely to be white, while the male swing voter is likely to be at least somewhat multiracial. Young voters are also more likely to be swing voters than older voters.

I don't think there really is such a thing in most elections, at least not ones where there are major variances between candidates. When a county or state swings back and forth, it's usually is related to turnout or candidate quality. It's hard to imagine that a voter could swing back and forth ideologically.

Um, I'm highly political, vote, and could easily be called a "swing voter".


I actually think that people who could be called "moderates" or "swing voters" are actually pretty intelligent for being able to see things from both sides.

There's a direct correlation between civic participation and the intensity of partisan affiliation.
