Does this budget account for bills that were passed over the last year?  And are you going to indicate to the agencies how they're to cut their spending, or are we just cutting everyone's funding?

We haven't had a GM review of our spending, that I know of, for some time. We'll have to take that up with Simfan.

The Penny Plan just says you need to reduce your spending by 1%. We're handing down amounts of spending cuts and the agency heads get to decide where to make those cuts.

And what about the areas where more than 1% was cut?

Agency heads have discretion with their agency. We can't micromanage every department and office. They know what is best in their line of work.

So what about the 44% cut to mass transit?

We're rolling back a spending increase from last year. Shrinking a $25 billion dollar spending increase to $5 billion.

I support the changes made in this budget, but it seems like the numbers used to calculate all of this just use last year's budget. Maybe we should consult with Simfan right away to update the numbers to reflect the other spending measures we've since enacted.

We have passed quite a few bills which will end up costing us a considerable amount of money. I would not be surprised if that resulted in a projected deficit.

I have messages Simfan about getting an analysis done but I haven't heard back.

Would you like to put in what we have from last year's bills?  I had thought you were doing this when you were proposing your budget.  If not, I can at some point.

I just adopted last years numbers. I'd appreciate it if you would do that, yeah. My activity is about to take a slight hit, but I'll still be able to be involved. Just not to that degree.
