It's weird to be called Mr. President, especially since it was so long ago and I wasn't on the job a long time.

I will say that I hope you keep this kind of thing up! I absolutely love your coverage.

Cynic has the Labor vote locked up, whereas Federalists are spreading around to several candidates.  Dr. Cynic will undoubtedly prevail.

Although it may still be too early to tell, my gut feeling is that the final round is between Cynic and I. All I can say is that I hope you're ready for a rumble, my friend.

I meant JCL, not you. We're cool.

That said, you win, I win... It'll be fine. I'll still be running at the end of the month and I think my chances of winning a seat are really strong there.

Fun thing is, a final round between Spiral and Dr. Cynic with the current numbers has both of them with 22 votes and four invalid votes in total. We're in for a long weekend!

Who is the one invalid vote you listed?

Jack Enderman, but I am very confused. He did vote for Matt as his first preference, but he has two candidates listed as his second preference, so I'm not sure if that invalidates his vote or not...

Nothing, really. But how could I let you get off so easy with the snide "sad too" comment? Tongue

If it were up to me, I would say the first preference for Matt is valid.  Once Matt is eliminated, the ballot should be considered exhausted.

Yes, it's very rough and it presumes all other candidates being eliminated, but here's the hypotetical Cynic v. Spiral round:

Spiral (Democratic Republican): 51,42% (36)
Dr. Cynic (Labor): 41.42% (29)
Invalid: 7,14% (5)

Spiral is looking good, but it's looking like Matt is the better final round candidate than Cynic.

Indeed, it gets really close:

Matt from VT (The People's Party): 48.57% (34)
Spiral (Democratic Republican): 47,14% (33)
Invalid: 4,28% (3)
