In 1959, the Alabama State Senate resolved that Justice Hugo Black's remains must never be buried in "Alabama's sacred soil".

When he died in 1971, Black was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, though I don't know whether the State Senate resolution could have prevented his burial in his home state, if such funeral was planned.

That's an extreme case of being "disowned" by his own state.
