Just as Riley did with the Federalists, I decided to make that for our Party. We ought to know what really defines The People's Party since we are the Third Way of a "Big Tent Right-Wing Party" and another "Big Tent Left-Wing Party". We need to define ourselves, we need to have an ideological basis and we need to rethink our platform? What are we? Are we Radical Centrists? Social Democrats? Social Liberals? Ordoliberals? I will leave to the old time members to start the discussion...

I would suggest our platform is a suitable place to start. The difference is that we're not necessarily interested in an ideology or at least being ideologically pure. Most members are socially libertarian/liberal, economically moderate (support of the mixed-market, small business - but strong workers protections) and take a case by case approach on foreign policy, with a bent towards non-intervention and support for multilateral cooperation.

When I come home, you will learn what The Party is truly about. Patience, friends.

The most important distinction, I think, is pretty simple. Unlike the Federalists we're not conservatives of any stripe, but unlike Labor we are not nor do we claim to be a socialist party. Those distinctions are the reason we exist.
