Bush 43, probably had the best grasp of macroeconomic policy, and considering the unfettered aggression of Chinese foreign reserve policy until 2005, Bush 43 and Bernanke worked a few minor miracles. Unfortunately, W was asleep at the switch regarding mortgage lending, health insurance, and energy policy.

Bush 41 was out of his element, imo. An establishment Republican from the traditional GOP who had seemingly no understanding of economic counterfactuals or the Austrian school (voodoo economics).

Reagan wins by default

The one who set the stage for the 90s economic boom and balanced budgets by putting ideology aside and working with a Democratic Congress.

Since nobody in their right mind would pick Bush 43, this poll is basically: "Are you a Republican or a Democrat?"
