New show on HBO. I really enjoyed the pilot. It's got a great mysterious aesthetic to it and was very captivating I found. Y'all should watch it.

I found it kinda boring but I am intrigued enough by the concept to give it several more episodes.

I agreed the pilot was slow, but still really liked it. Besides, in Todd VanDerWerff's review of the season he highlighted episode three as the best so I will give it until the end of that episode before I stop watching.

I definitely want to learn more about that creepy organization of smokers. I like that they smoke. And I like that Kathy Geiss is in the cult.

Here's an interesting theory I read on AV Club about what happened to the lead character (the police cop; i don't know names yet): He was cheating on his wife, and the woman he was sleeping with disappeared when it happened. He went a little crazy and was running around naked. His wife....obviously....found out and it's [partially] why she is in the cult of smokers.

I started the pilot and decided it might be better as something to marathon so I'm going to hold off.

The show is a little slow and kind of depressing but still pretty good. But don't watch it assuming they are going to spend a lot of time exploring the mystery of the disappeared people. Apparently that question will never be answered.

Really enjoying this so far. I find Justin Theroux's performance to be really good. One has to wonder how his Chief Garvey character would fit with HBO's two most recent cop characters - Cohle and Hart...

I've been really enjoying the show, but I'm in the minority who didn't care for episode 3. I just don't find the actor engaging.

Season finale was last night. I found this show to perhaps be the most compelling on television this summer, albeit a bit daunting at times but I suppose that's the point.

I think my favorite episode of the season was the one in which they showed life before "the departure." The show's message about loss and how it affects us is to be appreciated. I just hope that they keep that the focus of the show and not get caught up in the "why" as I'm sure some boneheaded audience members are still asking "but how did they disappear???" It's inconsequential.

I look forward to the next season.
