And is also evidence that the average Democratic voter in SC is not competent enough for choosing their Government. I love how some back then alleged that he was a GOP plant....that a majority of Dems still voted for lol.

He made a deal with the prosecutor. No criminal record against one year of counseling and community service.

He was arrested again in 2013 for trepassing. He got a 100$ fine and 4 days in jail.

HP, but it was interesting to see the Green candidate get almost 10% of the vote.

Still, I'm surprised that the SC Democrats would be so incompetent to nominate him.  Obviously the SCDP isn't in great shape, but it's not like Oklahoma where Democrats are pretty much resigned to losing and nominate Jim Rogers for every race.

I think that cases like SC are more the exception than the rule, though.  SC is especially peculiar because the state has a landscape that can produce a Democratic victory statewide in the right conditions, and therefore one would think the State Democrats would at least try to put up a formidable candidate, but most of the time the opposition parties put up someone who isn't a complete joke - definitely not to Alvin Greene-tier levels.  Even Carl Paladino wasn't a total disaster for the NY GOP when compared to other joke candidates.

You believe that most Americans are too stupid to choose their government?

"Making Democracy look bad" is a far milder choice of words than "not [being] competent enough to choose [one's] government". The former makes a statement about the voters' decisions, while the latter makes a statement about the voters themselves.
