The House and Senate, however, will remain firmly in GOP hands.

Or not...

Before people started announcing, I thought it was gonna be Mark Warner.

Yeah, that kid is all over me. He goes after you every once in awhile but he's clearly obsessed with me.

By the way, when I said that, it wasn't that crazy of an idea.  Wink

PM him and ask him out on a date.  Your playful flirtation via forum posts doesn't seem to be working.

Nah, Phil's a bit too young for me.

I'm still on the sex offenders register. It's probably not worth the risk.

I know Phil's facebook name.  Wanna trade for it?

However much that offer is tempting I'm afraid I have to pass. Maybe next April when I get the all clear.

Ok well the best way to win that battle is to just delete yourself from the Internets. We all win.

I would have said Hillary, but wow. Some of these choices are funny looking back on. I'm sure the things we say now will be funny years from now too.

One question - why did Sanford have so much buzz around here back then? Was it just a bandwagon thing or was there something more substantial that I'm unaware of?

back in 2005, it seemed like any bland conservative Southerner could get elected Tongue
its unbelievable how much things have changed since then In 04 and 05 you weren't considered normal and where considered un patriotic if you weren't a neo con.
now we have a somewhat liberal black president elect from illinois named Barack Hussian Obama. that was unimaginable back in 2004, its so weird how much things have changed.

the Republicans where in rare form back then LOL now this site is full of liberals.

More amazing to me that no one said Obama is that no one said George Allen

Anyway, in 2005 I would have guess Bill Owens or George Allen

That sounds odd. Maybe it was stated elsewhere. Someone had to have said it. Allen was a very popular choice back then. In fact, he was my second choice. Thank God he screwed up that Senate race instead of waiting to ruin our chances at the Presidency (if he was the nominee).

I don't know yet. Whoever succeeds Obama will be 44th. Depending on how his term goes it could be Romney or the second coming of Clinton.

My gut tells me the former, if not from incompetence then due to the sheer enormity of what we're going to face the next 4 years.
