If I recall correctly from my Baroque era Franco-Spanish history, Philip, Duke of Anjou was just 16 when he was willed the throne of Spain in 1700/1701.

I really don't know, I would like to have some more answers before I vote.

I believe he was, but he doesn't seem to have been ready at the start. At the time of the Battle of Almansa perhaps, but my knowledge on the War of the Spanish Succession is still quite basic...

That said, Nay.

I first got my taste for the history of the War of the Spanish Succession in 2004 when I acquired the game Versailles II: Testament of a King at Big Lots. I only realized later that it is not only rare but quite a bit more expensive then what I paid for it. Anyway it contained some nice charts depicting the relationship betweens Carlos II, Louis XIV and Leopold I, and how there kids/grandkids stood up dyanstically in the struggle, not to mention the years of birth for the dauphin's sons including Philip V.

I am pleased that someone responded but I must say it didn't contain any information on how to guide my vote.

X DemPGH, President

I really don't see why this would cause any consternation. It's simple to me: If a person is old enough to pay taxes, they are old enough to be considered an adult. At what age you are "old enough to be on your own" is surely a different debate, actually. In this matter there isn't a great deal of difference between sixteen and eighteen anyway. At least, looking back, there was for me a bigger difference between thirteen and fifteen than sixteen and eighteen.
