Not in the slightest. In fact he might be the closest thing to an actual doctrinaire fascist of any world leader today. Most of his policies are based on his racism and nationalist doctrines.

Robert Mugabe essentially operates by the same mindset Hitler had, only the other way around.  So no, he's not "far left" in the slightest.

He is almost by definition, as the last of the anti-colonial rebels steeped in Marxist rhetoric and anti-colonial ideology.  There's a reason the ANC and others are unwilling to criticize him: he speaks the language they spoke 25 years ago.  He's also a figure who has dramatically overstayed his sell-by date.  Africa has changed, Mugabe hasn't.
