Please, please stop doing this.  #readyforhillary is the most egregious culprit, but I see it everywhere now and it just leaves me angry and upset.  Sad  Why do you have to do that to me?  Why do you want to upset The Mikado like that?  That's mean, do you see yourself as mean?  Sad

Hashtags are meant to be fun and spontaneous Mikado! You never know when to expect them, but they just bring something extra to conversations and even Facebook is using them now! Just keep on #Bolieving! Cheesy

Why do people use hashtags on Twitter?

They are clickable and if you click on one, you can see all messages having that hashtag in.

About Joe Republic, I prefer people calling that touch "hashtag" over people who calling it "square", like that terrible phone system I once had.

About Joe Republic, I prefer people calling that touch "hashtag" over people who calling it "square", like that terrible phone system I once had.

In the US it's called the pound button, although in other countries it's often called the hash button (hence the origin of hashtag).
