He's...unique. I wonder how many people in the world are antiabortion, anti death penalty, antiwar vegetarians who don't drink or do drugs but maybe smoke marijuana.

Me, minus the vegetarian part.

I would also throw in being aversed to coffee and soda...

Basically, this Rod Dreher seems to believe that people with preindustrial values need to live preindustrial lifestyles. Which, to me, makes sense. I know that a lot of right-wing churches want their young people to "court", rather than "date". Its kind of like arranged marriage but the young person tries to negotiate the marriage of the who they are attracted to initially with the parents.

I'm really close to that, depending on how strictly one defines "antiwar" and whether I "maybe smoke marijuana." Tongue

This was kind of what  I think of in a modern Christian lifestyle once you took out the pagan  Indo European influence from the  Romans and Germanics as well as modern norms of industrialized society. Basically what the original Christians would be like if they existed in large numbers today.

I'm kind of like that, except I'm pro-choice, pro-death penalty, support a hawkish foreign policy, and eat meat... Wink

You're the type of Republican who thinks everyone is a hippie, huh? It does feel like that sometimes, doesn't it?
